Pulisic's Future Secured: Milan to Extend Contract Amid NYCFC Interest
AC Milan plans to extend Christian Pulisic's contract until 2028, rejecting NYCFC's interest. Milan also focuses on strengthening its defense this summer.

Pulisic's Contract Extension with Milan
AC Milan has confirmed its intention to extend the contract of USMNT star Christian Pulisic amidst interest from New York City FC. According to reports, the Serie A club is not willing to entertain offers for the 27-year-old this summer, opting instead to activate a clause that extends his contract until 2028.
Journalist Tom Bogert revealed during an interview with CBS Sports that NYCFC had explored a potential deal for Pulisic, which was described as “expensive.” However, Milan has firmly stated that their winger is not for sale this summer, emphasizing their commitment to the player during this transitional period under a new head coach and management.
Despite having just one year left on his current contract, Milan's decision to extend Pulisic’s stay indicates their belief in his value and potential contributions to the team going forward. Pulisic joined the Rossoneri from Chelsea in a €20 million deal in 2023 and has since made a significant impact, netting 42 goals in 134 appearances.
Milan's Transfer Strategy: Focus on Defense
While the focus remains on Pulisic, AC Milan is also shaping its transfer strategy for the summer. Reports indicate that following the acquisition of Gonçalo Ramos from PSG, the club's priority has shifted to strengthening their defense rather than pursuing additional attacking options like Mason Mount from Manchester United.
Transfer expert Matteo Moretto stated that Mount is not on Milan’s shopping list this summer, as the club is “110%” focused on signing a high-level central defender. Italian sources have identified Antonio Silva from Benfica as a primary target for this defensive reinforcement.
Spinazzola's New Deal with Napoli
In other transfer news, Leonardo Spinazzola has officially signed a new contract with Napoli that will keep him at the club until June 2028. Initially facing uncertainty regarding his future as he was nearing free agency, the 33-year-old full-back has secured his position following a season where he contributed to Napoli's Scudetto and Supercoppa Italiana victories.
Having joined Napoli as a free agent in 2024, Spinazzola's versatility has proven invaluable, with 72 competitive appearances and four goals to his name. His new contract ensures that Napoli retains a player with significant experience and capability as they look to build on their recent successes.
