Rangers Sign Dan Neil as Inter Extend Mkhitaryan's Contract
Rangers have signed Dan Neil on a three-year deal, while Inter Milan extend Henrikh Mkhitaryan's contract for another season amid squad changes.

Rangers Secure Dan Neil
In a significant move, Rangers have announced the signing of midfielder Dan Neil on a three-year contract. The 24-year-old joins the Scottish club after his contract with Sunderland expired. Neil, who had been in discussions with Southampton, ultimately chose to make the switch to Ibrox.
Neil, a product of Sunderland's academy, has made 201 senior appearances for the club, including a successful season that saw him captain the team to the Premier League via the play-offs in the 2024/25 season. His experience and leadership qualities are expected to bolster Rangers' midfield as they aim for success in the upcoming season.
After signing, Neil expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "It is a new chapter for myself, and I am really excited to be signing for Rangers. I have played for Sunderland for a number of years and the weight and expectation of the fans to win every week, and the feeling of it making or breaking people's weekends, is something that drives me."
Inter Milan Extend Mkhitaryan's Contract
Meanwhile, Inter Milan has confirmed that veteran midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2026-27 season. The 37-year-old was out of contract as of June 30 but opted to remain with the Nerazzurri.
Mkhitaryan's new deal reportedly includes a reduced salary of around €2 million, down from €3.8 million, reflecting the club's strategic adjustments following the departures of several senior players. Despite his age, Mkhitaryan remains a crucial part of Inter's midfield, having participated in 39 matches last season and contributing four goals and three assists.
With this extension, Mkhitaryan joins a midfield that includes notable players such as Nicolo Barella and Piotr Zielinski. His experience will be invaluable as the club navigates the challenges of both domestic and European competitions in the coming season.
Looking Ahead
As the transfer window continues to unfold, both Rangers and Inter Milan are making strategic moves to strengthen their squads. Rangers aim to build on their success in the Scottish Premiership, while Inter looks to maintain its competitive edge in Serie A and Europe. Fans of both clubs will be watching closely to see how these changes impact their teams in the upcoming season.
