United Draw a Line on Fernandes

Manchester United have made their position unequivocal: Bruno Fernandes is not for sale. According to BBC Sport, senior sources at Old Trafford have stated that any offer for the 31-year-old captain would be rejected outright, with the club insisting he is "not for sale at any price".

The news comes after reports that Turkish champions Galatasaray were preparing a bid that would eventually reach €50 million (£42.7m). Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan were also said to be weighing up whether to test United's resolve.

However, those clubs have been warned they would be "wasting their time". Club sources indicate that, as yet, no formal bids have been submitted, but the message is clear: the Portuguese playmaker is going nowhere.

Fernandes' Value and Contract Situation

Fernandes enjoyed another stellar campaign last season, scoring nine goals and providing a record 21 assists in the Premier League. His importance to the side under new permanent head coach Michael Carrick cannot be overstated.

The 31-year-old has one year left on his current contract, with an option for an additional season. A £57m release clause in his deal has now expired, strengthening United's negotiating position. While talks over an extension have not yet reached an agreement, it is understood that Fernandes would prefer to stay at the club.

Last summer, United had told Fernandes it was his call whether to accept a mammoth offer from Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal — a stance the player later admitted left him feeling "hurt". This time, however, the club have made their stance clear from the outset, a reflection of the calmer environment Carrick has fostered since his appointment in May.

Carrick's Calm Approach

Carrick's composed demeanor has been a defining feature of his early tenure. During a recent media session in Wroclaw, he faced pointed questions about the club's transfer ambitions and realistic targets for the season. Rather than showing irritation, he remained relaxed and polite, deftly navigating the conversation — a style that mirrors his playing days.

With the transfer deadline looming, United's resolve on Fernandes sends a strong signal. While interest from Galatasaray, Juventus and AC Milan may persist, the message from Old Trafford is unambiguous: the captain is staying put. For fans, it is a welcome show of strength as the club looks to build on a promising pre-season under Carrick.

As the summer window enters its final weeks, all eyes will be on whether any club dares to test United's stance. But for now, Fernandes remains a Red Devil — and that is exactly how the club wants it.
